Austin – Pedestrian Struck and Killed by Car on William Cannon Dr

An auto versus pedestrian accident on West William Cannon Drive caused the death of one person, according to a local news source.

Just before 7:00 p.m., Austin police officers received a report of a crash on West William Cannon Dr which involved a pedestrian. According to the report, a man was attempting to cross the roadway when a passing white 2017 Lexus RX struck him. When authorities arrived at the scene, they found the pedestrian suffering from serious injuries. He was immediately rushed to St. David’s South Austin Hospital where he was listed in an unknown condition.

Unfortunately, last November 13th, the victim succumbed to his injuries. He was later identified as 34-year-old Armando Casares.

It was not confirmed if the driver of the Lexus remained at the scene.

The Austin Police Department is investigating the crash.
