Austin – Pedestrian Struck and Injured by Car on 51st Street

The Austin Police Department is conducting an investigation about a vehicle accident on 51st Street last Thursday.

According to the initial reports, A pedestrian was seen standing near 51st St near Cameron Road at around 8:30 p.m. For still unknown circumstances, a passing car struck the victim, leaving the pedestrian injured. She was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital where she was treated for her life-threatening injuries.

Authorities only identified the victim as a woman in her 30s.

No one else was injured.

Whether the driver remained or escaped the scene remains unclear at this time.

The investigation is still in progress.
