Austin – Pedestrian Collision on Stassney Lane Kills 1

A fatal pedestrian versus vehicle accident took the life of one person on Stassney Lane in South Austin, a local news source reported.
According to local officials, police responded to the intersection of Stassney Lane and South Congress Avenue after receiving a call reporting a crash at around 1:00 a.m. A man was crossing the street when he was struck by an undescribed vehicle. He was pronounced dead when Austin-Travis County EMS medics arrived at the scene. His identification was not immediately disclosed pending notification of his immediate family.
The driver of the vehicle remained and is cooperating with police. It is unclear if he will face charges.
The crash remains under investigation.
