Austin – Pedestrian Accident on Interstate 35

The Austin Police Department is investigating an auto versus pedestrian collision on Interstate Highway 35, Friday afternoon.
At around 2:25 p.m., local officers were dispatched to the southbound lane of I-35 service road near 15th Street in response to a call reporting an accident. Police said an undescribed vehicle reportedly struck a pedestrian leaving four people with various injuries. How it actually happened was not immediately disclosed.
According to a tweet from Austin-Travis County EMS, one man and a woman in her 20s sustained critical injuries while the two other patients suffered from non-life threatening injuries. Two of them were transported to Dell Seton Medical Center.
One lane was shut down to give way for clearing and investigation.
APD is still gathering more details about the accident. The crash remains under investigation.
