Austin – Man Struck by Car on Airport Boulevard

The pedestrian who died in a collision with a car on Airport Boulevard has been identified by local officials, a local news source reported.

The fatality was identified as 61-year-old Mauro Carrasco.

According to initial reports, the incident took place at the 1100 block of Airport Boulevard at around 7:00 p.m. Mauro Carrasco was seen crossing the street along Airport Blvd when a passing 2014 silver Ford Focus struck him. The impact knocked down Carrasco to the ground where he was struck again by another vehicle, described as a blue Toyota Tacoma.

When emergency crews responded to the scene, they found Carrasco lying in the roadway seriously injured. He was pronounced deceased at the scene. The drivers of the Toyota and Ford waited til police arrived at the scene. They are cooperating in the investigation.
