Austin– Man Pinned Under A Bus on San Jacinto Boulevard

A bicyclist was struck and killed by a bus on San Jacinto Boulevard last Monday night, local emergency crews reported.
According to initial reports, Austin-Travis County EMS were requested at San Jacinto Boulevard and 23rd Street just before 10:00 p.m. How the crash took place is yet to be determined but it was confirmed that the bicyclist and Capital Metro bus were both heading north on San Jacinto when they somehow collided. The bicycle rider was pinned under the bus following the collision.
Local paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene. His identification remains to be confidential until his family has been notified.
Neither the driver nor the passenger of the bus was reportedly injured.
The Austin Police Department is still investigating the accident.
