Austin – Man Killed in Mopac Expy Collision Identified

The Austin Police Department has released the name of the man who died in a fatal vehicle collision on North Mopac Expressway in Austin last Saturday.
The fatality was identified as Leon Jay Harvey.
According to initial reports, the crash took place just before 12 noon at the 12600 North Mopac Expressway in Austin. Leon Harvey was reportedly operating a 2015 Toyota Prius when, for reasons that had not yet been determined, drove into a barrier and into the path of a Ford F-150 pickup truck. As a result, Harvey was pronounced deceased at the scene due to the injuries sustained from the impact. Meanwhile, the driver of the pickup truck was not hurt.
Based on the initial investigation, Harvey was attempting to exit the road when it struck the barrier which pushed him into the pickup truck.
