Austin – Man Killed after Colliding with Reckless Driver on Rutland Dr

A fatal auto crash on Rutland Drive resulted in the death of one person, early Monday morning.

At around 1:35 a.m., a crash was reported on Rutland Dr near Mearns Meadow Boulevard in Austin. Initial investigation shows that a vehicle reportedly ignored a red signal and crashed into another car. The force of the impact seriously injured the driver of the second vehicle. Meanwhile, the reckless driver was taken into custody by local authorities. It was not confirmed if he also suffered from any injury.

Austin area investigators were also requested at the scene to determine liability.

The crash remains under investigation at this time.
