Austin – Man Died Following Pedestrian Collision on Interstate 35

A 30-year-old man, whose identity has not been released, was killed after getting struck by a vehicle on Interstate 35 in Downtown Austin, last Monday morning.
In the report released by the Austin Police Department, the incident happened just after 3:00 a.m. at the 1500 block of Interstate 35, not too far from Frank Erwin Center. A man was attempting to cross the highway when an 18-wheeler semi tractor-trailer struck him. Following the first collision, the victim was then struck by a number of cars after. He was pronounced deceased by emergency crews who responded to the scene. His identification was withheld.
Authorities did not release any information about the driver of the tractor-trailer. Whether he remained or fled the scene remains unknown at this time.
