Austin – Katy Lynn Johnson Killed in Pedestrian Crash on Airport Blvd

A 55-year-old woman was killed after getting involved in a pedestrian crash on Airport Boulevard near East 12th Street, last Friday night.

At around 8:30 p.m., police responded to a call reporting a crash near East 12th Street. A woman, who was later identified as 55-year-old Katy Lynn Johnson, was walking across Airport Blvd when a passing vehicle, described as 2011 Nissan Altima, struck her. When they arrived at the scene, they found Johnson suffering from fatal injuries. She was pronounced deceased by emergency crews.

The driver of the Nissan, whose identity has yet to be released, remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators. It was not confirmed if he will be facing charges.

An investigation is underway.
