Austin – Female Pedestrian Hospitalized Following Cameron Rd Crash

A woman was sent to the hospital after getting hit by a car on Cameron Road in Austin, Sunday evening.
Just after 9:00 p.m., local officials responded to Cameron Rd following reports of a pedestrian struck by a car near E Saint Johns. According to the report, the vehicle was passing the roadway when, for yet to be undetermined reasons, it hit a woman. The victim sustained serious injuries due to the force of the impact. She was taken to a local hospital for further medical attention. Her identification was withheld pending notification of her next of kin.
Police did not provide information about the driver of the vehicle involved. Whether or not he remained on scene was not confirmed.
The crash is still under investigation.
