Austin – Elvira Cadena Trujillo Dies Following A Vehicle Collision on FM 973

The Austin Police Department has released the name of the elderly driver who died in a vehicular accident on Farm to Market 973 Road, last April 18.
The victim was identified as 77-year-old Elvira Cadena Trujillo.
Police said that Trujillo was driving a car along FM 973 near Pearce Street at around 10:15 a.m. As she was about to make a turn towards FM 973, a pickup truck entered the intersection, prompting a collision. Trujillo sustained serious injuries from the force of the impact. She was rushed to South Austin Hospital where she was pronounced dead by medical crews.
Based on a preliminary investigation, the pickup truck did not have the green light when it entered the cross street. Its driver was not immediately identified.
Law enforcement officials arrived at the scene to determine liability and possible charges against the driver of the pickup truck.
