Austin – Douglas Vogelsass Struck and Killed by Car on US 290

The pedestrian who died after getting hit by a vehicle on US Highway 290 has been identified by Austin Police Department, Sunday.
According to reports, the pedestrian was identified as 54-year-old Douglas Joseph Vogelsass.
Vogelsass was seen walking on the northbound side of William Cannon Drive just before 1:00 a.m. prior to the accident. As he attempted to cross the highway at the intersection, he was then hit by a passing Ford truck. He was pronounced deceased by emergency crews who responded to the scene.
The driver of the Ford stayed at the scene and is cooperating with investigators. No charges are expected to be filed against the drive, police said.
