At least one person dies following a fatal car accident on Ranch Road 620 over the weekend, according to Texas Department of Public Safety.
Sunday morning, at around 10:00 a.m., a Crown Victoria was traveling along the southbound lanes, near the 6900 block of 620, when she skidded into the northbound lanes and collided with a Honda CRV. The impact of the collision left the Honda driver partially ejected from the vehicle.
Authorities have identified the driver as 21-year-old Cameron Renae Williams. The other driver sustained unknown injuries from the impact. He was rushed to a hospital for treatment.
Based on a preliminary investigation, the Crown Victoria skidded into the opposing lanes to avoid the wet road, prompting the collision.
No charges have been made as the investigation continues.
We offer our sincerest sympathies to the family and friends of the deceased victim. May God grant you strength to go through this difficult time in your life. We also pray for a fast recovery of the injured driver. We believe that the Austin Police will do everything to bring those responsible to justice.
In the United States, Texas is one of the leading states in the number of traffic collisions involving fatalities. In fact, in 2015 alone, the state recorded more than 1,300 deaths caused by reckless drivers. Despite the government’s aggressive efforts to keep these cases down, Texas remains the worst state in the country for alcohol-involved car crashes.
