Austin — Bicyclist Struck by Car on MLK Boulevard

The Austin Police Department has identified the bicyclist who died in a fatal vehicle collision on MLK Boulevard, Thursday night.
Authorities named the victim was 28-year-old Jessica Saathoff. She died from the injuries sustained from the crash.
According to initial reports, the tragic crash took place at around 9:00 p.m., on MLK Boulevard near Interstate 35. Jessica Saathoff was riding her bicycle near the area when she was hit by a car, leaving her seriously injured. Saathoff was immediately taken to Dell Seton Medical Center where she later succumbed to her injuries.
How the crash took place is yet to be determined by local officers but it was confirmed that the driver of the vehicle who struck the victim stayed at the scene after the collision. His identification remains unknown at this time.
No words on what caused the crash yet as the investigation still in progress.
