Austin – Bicycle Crash on US Hwy 290

According to a local news source, a man was rushed to the hospital after a major accident on US Highway 290, early Monday morning.

Just before 2:00 a.m., Austin police received a call reporting a bicycle accident on Highway 290 near Northeast Drive. A bicyclist was seen traveling along the highway when a passing SUV struck him. The rider of the bicycle was injured and was immediately taken to the nearest hospital where he was listed in an unknown condition.

Meanwhile, the driver of the SUV remained at the scene and is cooperative with responding officers. He was not hurt.

No charges have been made as the investigation is still in progress. Anyone who has information relevant to the crash should get in contact with Austin police.
