Austin- Auto vs Pedestrian Collision on Cesar Chavez Street

A pedestrian crash on East Cesar Chavez Street sent one person to a hospital, Sunday morning.
At around 5:20 a.m., Austin local officers responded to East Cesar Chavez Street to assist in an auto vs pedestrian collision. When they arrived at the scene, they found a victim lying on the roadway. After he was given treatment, he was transported to a nearby hospital where he received proper medical care. The extent of his injuries was not immediately disclosed. How the crash happened remains unclear at this time. Authorities did not provide information about the driver who struck the victim.
The Austin Police Department was also requested at the scene to assist in the clearing. They have yet to determine if the driver will be charged. An investigation is ongoing.
