Austin – Auto Crash on East Hwy 71

The Austin Police Department is conducting an investigation about a vehicle collision on East Highway 71 which resulted in the death of one person, Sunday, according to a local news source.

Just after 9:00 a.m., local troopers responded to 5000 block of E Highway 71 after they received reports of a crash involving two cars. The circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear this time but it was confirmed that three people were injured. Two of them were later pronounced deceased at the scene.

Meanwhile, the third victim, whose identity has yet to be released, was immediately taken to the hospital for treatment. Police said his injuries are considered to be life-threatening.

No one else was injured.

The crash remains under investigation at this time.
