Austin – 77-year-old Woman Killed in Car Accident on FM 973

A fatal car accident on Farm to Market 973 caused the death of an elderly woman, last Thursday morning, according to a local news source.
At around 10:15 a.m., a tragic collision was reported at FM 973 near Pearce Lane in Del Valle. According to police reports, a vehicle was attempting to make a turn towards FM 973 when a pickup truck entered the intersection and struck its driver’s side. The driver of the car sustained serious injuries from the force of the impact. She was rushed to St. David’s South Austin Medical Center where she later succumbed to her injuries.
Authorities only identified the victim as a 77-year-old woman. Her immediately family has yet to be notified.
What caused the pickup truck to crashed into the car is yet to be determined by Austin law enforcement officials.
The crash remains under investigation.
