Austin – 24-year-old Casey Ballard ID’d Victim of Crash on I-35

Austin law enforcement officials have named the 24-year-old pedestrian who died after getting hit by a car on Interstate 35 in South Austin last week, Wednesday.
The fatality was identified as 24-year-old Casey Ballard. According to the report released by police officers, Ballard was attempting to cross the highway along the northbound lanes of I-35, south of Riverside Drive, when he was hit by a passing 2001 Nissan Frontier pickup truck. The impact of the collision killed him at the scene.
No other injuries were reported.
Authorities said the driver of the pickup truck remained at the scene and is cooperating with local investigators. He was not injured.
No charges have been made as the crash is still under investigation. The Austin Police Department is gathering more information about the crash.
