A fatal car accident on US 290 caused the death of a male teenager last April 18, according to a local news source.
Initial reports said that the wreck took place near the intersection of US 290 and Farm to Market Road 1826. In the morning of Thursday, a sport utility vehicle was exiting a driveway when it made a left turn on a right-turn only road and collided with a passing silver vehicle. The impact of the crash sent the silver car onto the eastbound lanes of the highway where it got struck by a truck.
The driver of the silver car, identified only as a 19-year-old male driver, died from the injuries sustained from the force of the impact. Meanwhile, the driver of the truck was rushed to an area hospital for treatment. His injuries were considered non-life threatening.
The driver of the SUV was issued a citation for ignoring a posted sign.
We offer our sincerest sympathies to the family and friends of the deceased victim. May God grant you strength to go through this difficult time in your life. We believe that the Austin Police will do everything to bring those responsible to justice.
In the United States, Texas is one of the leading states in the number of traffic collisions involving fatalities. In fact, in 2015 alone, the state recorded more than 1,300 deaths caused by reckless drivers. Despite the government’s aggressive efforts to keep these cases down, Texas remains the worst state in the country for alcohol-involved car crashes.
