Angelina County – Man Killed in Solo-Car Crash on Scotty Beard Rd ID’d

Law enforcement officials have released the name of the man who died in a fatal vehicle accident on Scotty Beard Road, Last Friday.

According to initial reports, the incident took place at around 7:45 p.m. on Scotty Beard Road near Farm-to-Market Road 842. A Chevrolet pickup was seen traveling along the roadway when, for reasons that had not yet been determined, it veered off the roadway. When the driver, identified as Alejandro Garcia, 49, tried to overcorrect the truck and go back to the road, it then crashed into a tree. Garcia suffered from fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. His only passenger also sustained injuries and was taken to a Lufkin hospital for treatment. His identification was not immediately disclosed.

Police have yet to determine the cause of the accident.
