Andrews – Two Died Following FM 181 Collision

The Texas Department of Public Safety has identified the victims who died in a fatal collision on Farm to Market Road 181 in Andrews County last Wednesday.

The fatalities were identified as 26-year-old Aaron Pinon and 30-year-old Vernardo Ojeda. According to initial reports, a vehicle was traveling along FM 181 when, for reasons that had not yet been determined, it drifted into a center line and struck a part of the trailer being hauled by an 18-wheeler. The impact of the collision seriously injured both Pinon and Ojeda. They were pronounced deceased by emergency crews who responded to the scene.

The driver of the tractor-trailer did not sustain any injury. He was not identified.

Police have yet to determine the reason that caused the vehicle to veer into the path of the truck. An investigation is underway.
