Andrews County – Woman Died after Colliding with a Pickup Truck on FM1788

The Texas Department of Public Safety is conducting an investigation about a two-vehicle crash that took place on Farm to Market Road 1788 in Andrews County.
Just after 4:00 a.m., DPS troopers responded to FM 1788 after receiving a call reporting a collision. According to initial reports, a vehicle driven by a 35-year-old woman was seen traveling along the roadway when, for yet unknown reasons, it drifted onto the path of a Ford F-250 pickup truck, resulting in a collision.
The driver of the first vehicle sustained life-threatening injuries from the force of the impact. She was pronounced deceased by emergency crews. Meanwhile, the Ford driver was not injured.
A preliminary investigation indicates that the female driver was not wearing a seat belt during the time of the incident.
