Amarillo – Woman Killed on SE 34th Ave Identified

The Amarillo Police Department has released the name of the woman who died following a head-on collision on Southeast 34th Avenue in Amarillo, Thursday morning.
The fatality was identified as 18-year-old Evelyn Jasmine Rios. He is a resident of Amarillo.
Just after 8:00 a.m., police responded to the 4000 block of SE 34th Street following reports of a two-vehicle accident. A 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee was seen traveling along the westbound lane of the roadway when it collided with a 2011 Mazda Tribute. Police have yet to determine why the Jeep slid into the path of the Mazda.
The driver of the Jeep, Evelyn Rios, sustained fatal injuries and was later pronounced deceased at the scene. Meanwhile, the driver of the Mazda, identified only as a 17-year-old Amarillo resident, was seriously injured and rushed to the hospital for treatment.
