Amarillo – Teenage Passenger Killed on Hastings Avenue Crash ID’d

The Amarillo Police Department has identified the teenager who died as a result of solo-vehicle collision on Dumas Highway near Hastings Avenue, last Sunday.
The fatality was named 17-year-old Andrea Elizalde. She was a passenger in the vehicle involved in the fatal wreck.
According to reports, a sports car carrying Andrea Elizalde was traveling along Hastings Avenue when, for reasons that had not been determined, it went out of control and drifted off the roadway. The car then drove up the embankment and came to rest on Hastings after striking the bottom of the overpass.
The impact of the collision killed Elizalde instantly. The driver of the vehicle and another passenger sustained injuries from the force of the impact. They were identified as 17-year-old man and 22-year-old man respectively.
An investigation is underway.
