Amarillo – Rollover Collision on Thompson Park Leaves 6 Hospitalized

Several people were sent to the hospital following a major car crash on Thompson Park, Thursday.

According to the initial investigation, a sport utility vehicle was seen traveling along the park when, for reasons that had not yet been determined, it crashed into a tree which caused the SUV to roll over. Six occupants in the vehicle suffered from injuries ranging from serious to non-life-threatening injuries. One of the patients were rushed to a nearby hospital while the remaining victims were given medical treatment at the scene. It was not confirmed if they were also transported to the hospital.

Amarillo local officials were requested at the scene assist in the clearing. They also have yet to determine the reason that caused the SUV to struck the tree.

The investigation is still ongoing.
