Amarillo – One Injured on US 87

One person was sent to a hospital after getting involved in a Dumas Drive, also known as US Highway 87, Thursday.

According to the initial investigation, a silver sedan had been traveling along US 87 when, for unknown reasons, it encountered a mechanical problem and got stalled at the middle lane. A few moments later, a passing pickup truck then crashed into the stalled car. The operator of the vehicle, whose identity has not yet been released, sustained injuries and was taken to the hospital where he received medical treatment. His condition was not disclosed.

No one else was injured.

Amarillo law enforcement officials were also requested at the scene to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident. The crash remains under investigation.
