Last Sunday night, a fatal car accident on Texas Highway 136 killed one person, according to Texas Department of Public Safety officials.
Just before 12:00 midnight, police received a call reporting a car accident on Texas Highway 136 near Fritch. A 2017 Chevrolet Tahoe was traveling along the eastbound lane of the highway when it went out of control and drove off the roadway. The Chevrolet continued on, crashed into a fence, and came to rest a field after striking a tree. When authorities arrived at the scene, they found its driver inside the wreckage. He was pronounced dead at the scene by Hutchinson County Justice of the Peace Yadi Rodriguez, who ordered an autopsy.
It was not confirmed why the driver lost control of the car. He was the only occupant of the Tahoe.
