Amarillo – John Reynolds Hospitalized Following a Suspected DUI Crash on 34th Street

A 60-year-old man was sent to a hospital with serious injuries after a multi-car collision on 34th Street, Friday morning.
Initial reports indicate that the accident happened at around 9:00 a.m. on Southwest 34th Street near Bell Street. According to police, a vehicle, driven by 60-year-old John Robert Reynolds, was heading north on Bell when it was struck by a pickup driven by 37-year-old Jesus Enrique Gonzales. Another pickup truck and an unidentified vehicle were also struck as a result of the accident.
Reynolds suffered from life-threatening injuries from the force of the impact. He was transported to a local hospital via ambulance.
The exact details of the collision remain unclear at this time but based on a preliminay investigation, police said that speed and alcohol may have played a role in the case.
An investigation is underway.
