Amarillo- Gladys Xaipot-Lopez Died in an Auto Crash on FM 297

Local authorities have released the name of the driver of the vehicle that collided with a truck tractor on Farm to Market Road 297 in Sherman County, last Wednesday.
The fatality was identified as 23-year-old Gladys Xaipot-Lopez. She is a resident of Dalhart
Just after 5:00 a.m., DPS troopers were requested to assist in an auto crash on FM 297. According to the report, a 2014 Mack Conventional truck tractor–that was towing an MAS semi-trailer–was heading west on the roadway when a 2003 Dodge Grand Caravan drifted into its path, prompting a collision. When emergency crews arrived at the scene, they found significant damages on the front end side of the Mack truck.
The driver of the Dodge was pronounced deceased on the scene by Sherman County Justice of the Peace Brenda Acker. She was identified as Gladys Xaipot-Lopez. Fortunately, the driver of the truck was not injured. He was identified as 27-year-old Jesus Cid-Rubio of Stratford.
The accident remains under investigation.
