Amarillo – 1 Killed in Fatal Vehicle Crash on State Loop 335

An auto collision on State Loop 335, east of Amarillo, resulted in the death of one person last Saturday, October 12.
According to initial reports, a vehicle had been traveling along the highway when a semi-truck suddenly pulled onto the road. The driver attempted to avoid the semi-truck by swerving but, instead, the vehicle ended up underneath the trailer. The driver of the car sustained life-threatening injuries. He was pronounced deceased by local paramedics who responded to the scene. His identification has not yet been released.
Meanwhile, the driver of the semi-truck was not injured. It is not clear if he will be facing any charges.
Based on the preliminary investigation, the driver of the trailer failed to yield to the right of way which might have contributed to the accident.
The crash remains under investigation.
