Alto – Man Killed in Speeding Crash on FM 241 Identified

The driver who died in a fatal vehicle collision on Farm to Market Road 241 has been identified, according to a local news source.

Police said a vehicle was traveling along FM 241 in Alto when its driver, identified as 18-year-old Oscar Alejandro Ibarra, failed to navigate a curve and lost control of the car. The vehicle then went off the roadway and struck a tree. The impact of the collision seriously injured two passengers of the vehicle who were later identified as Chavez Veliz, 59, and Maria Linda Lira, 66. They were all taken to the nearest hospital where Veliz succumbed to her injuries.

Based on the initial investigation, Ibarra was traveling at an unsafe speed when he lost control of the car.

No further details are available as the investigation is still in progress.
