Alief- Auto vs Pedestrian Accident on Beechnut St Kills Woman

Last Saturday, a pedestrian crash on Beechnut Street resulted in the death of one woman, according to a local news source.
Just after 10:00 p.m., local police were dispatched to 10900 Beechnut Street in response to a call reporting a crash. Initial investigation indicates that a black Dodge Journey was traveling along the westbound lane when it hit a pedestrian that–according to Houston Police Department–darted out on the street and in the path of the Dodge.
The female victim sustained fatal injuries from the force of the impact. She was rushed to a nearby hospital where she succumbed to her injuries shortly after. Her identification was withheld by authorities. Meanwhile, the driver remained on scene and is being questioned by investigators. He was only identified as a 44-year-old man.
The crash remains under investigation.
