Alice – 76-year-old Woman Died in Highway 44 Crash

A woman was killed after getting into a vehicle accident on Highway 44 in Alice, Wednesday.
The victim was identified as 76-year-old Rose Elia Chacon.
Rose Chacon was driving a gray Mitsubishi pickup truck along Highway 44 when she reportedly fell asleep, causing the truck to left the roadway. When Chacon attempted to overcorrect the vehicle, it ended up rolling over a number of times. Chacon was thrown off the vehicle upon impact. He sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased by emergency crews who responded to the scene.
No other injuries were reported as of this writing.
The Alice Police Department was requested at the scene to determine liability. An investigation is underway.
