Accident, vehicle fire reported on S Sam Houston Twy near Pearland

BRAZORIA COUNTY, TX — A fiery two-vehicle crash Tuesday afternoon blocked a shoulder and multiple lanes on South Sam Houston Tollway near Pearland, according to Houston Transtar.
The collision occurred on the eastbound tollway approaching State Highway 288, near the city’s Almeada Heights area. It was verified by Houston Transtar at 12:07 p.m.
Few details have been shared, but the accident and resulting vehicle fire blocked the right shoulder, right lane, and two center lanes.
By 12:28 p.m., one center lane had been reopened to traffic.
As of this writing, authorities have not confirmed any serious injuries in the event.
