Abilene – Ronald Crane Struck and Killed by Motorcycle on South 1st Street

Abilene law enforcement officials have released the name of the pedestrian who died in a fatal pedestrian versus motorcycle collision on South First Street last Saturday night.
The fatality was identified as Ronald Crane, 48. Authorities said that Crane was a homeless person.
According to initial reports, the wreck occurred at the intersection of S. 1st Street and Portland Avenue around 11:15 p.m. Crane was walking north across the street when a passing motorcycle struck him. He was immediately taken to an area hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.
The rider of the motorcycle suffered from injuries and was also taken to a medical center for treatment. His condition remains unknown at this time. Police did not mention if he will be charged in relation to the incident.
An investigation is still ongoing.
