Abilene – Man Struck by Motorcycle on South 1st Street

A man died after getting struck by a motorcycle on South First Street, Saturday night, according to a local news source.
Abilene law enforcement officials responded to the intersection of S. 1st Street and Portland Avenue after receiving a call reporting a pedestrian versus motorcycle crash just after 11:00 p.m. Based on a preliminary investigation, a man, identified only as a 48-year-old male, was seen walking along the roadway when he was hit by a passing motorcycle.
The force of the impact killed the pedestrian on scene. The rider, who was not wearing a helmet at the time of the incident, sustained injuries from the crash. He was immediately taken to a local hospital where he was listed in unknown condition.
No identification has been released at this time.
Authorities continue to investigate the incident.
