Man seriously injured after pedestrian accident in west Houston

HOUSTON, TX – A man was critically injured after he was hit by a car in west Houston this morning, according to FOX 26 Houston.
The accident happened in the 6000 block of Gessner Road at about 6:30 a.m. when a man, whose identity has not been released, attempted to cross the street. He was then hit by an SUV, whose driver has also not been publicly identified at this time.
The driver stopped and stayed at the scene following the accident.
The victim was then taken to the hospital in serious, life-threatening condition.
Intoxication is not suspected of being a factor in the accident.
Authorities are continuing to investigate the crash at this time.
