A violent crash in Duncanville left one woman dead and another injured on Saturday night, January 26, 2019.
According to initial reports, the accident occurred at the intersection of Danieldale Road and Greentree Lane at approximately 8:30 p.m. A 4-door car was traveling west and was attempting to make a left turn when a 2-door car, which was traveling east, slammed into it.
The impact was so strong that it sent one car crashing through several feet of a nearby fence.
The driver of the 4-door car was flown to Parkland Hospital, but unfortunately, she later died there from her injuries. Meanwhile, the driver of the other car was checked out at the scene, and the passenger was brought to Methodist Dallas Medical Center.
It is unfortunate to hear of what happened to the victims of this particular accident. Unfortunately, this is not the first time that someone is killed or seriously injured because of a car accident. Car accidents like this happen quite often nowadays. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), car accidents happen almost every minute of every day, and for every 16 minutes, a car accident occurs that results in death. This can be translated to roughly about 6 million car accidents every year and 90 people dying in car accidents every day in the U.S. alone.
Additionally, the NHTSA also reports that intersections/near intersections comprise 15% of fatal car accidents while open roads comprise 85%.
If you are a victim of a car accident, or you know someone who is, or you lost a loved one because of this, then please don’t hesitate to ask for help. The police will always be there to help you, but more than that, car accident lawyers are always willing to help you in protecting your rights and getting you the justice that you deserve.
