Woman killed in hit-and-run on the North Freeway

HOUSTON, TX – One person was killed in a hit-and-run on the North Freeway on Monday afternoon, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.

The victim, Karen Wilcox, was on the ground of a parking lot at 10275 North Freeway when she was hit by a passing truck. The truck fled the scene of the crash and Wilcox suffered serious injuries that eventually led to her death.

It is not known why Wilcox was on the ground. Authorities have not released any information about the suspect.
