Smith County- Jonathan Burkett Died in Industrial Accident at Cannon Steel

Authorities are still investigating a fatal accident at Cannon Steel that took the life of one person last Wednesday.
The victim was identified by Smith County officials as 28 year old Jonathan Burkett. He was a resident from Tyler.
Local emergency crews responded to the scene at an unspecified time in the afternoon last Wednesday. When they arrived, Burkett was already lifeless and Smith County paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene.
No other injuries were reported.
How the accident took place is yet to be determined. The investigators were also requested at the scene to gather information surrounding the incident and determine the factors that contributed to this unfortunate event.
