HOUSTON, TX – Two people were killed and a teenage girl suffered critical injuries after a bus and car crashed into one another in Channelview on Thursday, the Houston Chronicle reports.
The crash occurred when a red Pontiac G8 skidded into oncoming traffic on Sheldon Road, colliding with a Harris County Transit bus. The force of the crash killed the driver of the Pontiac and a female passenger in the front seat. A teenager in the backseat, an unidentified female, was rushed to the hospital with critical injuries.
No one was inside the bus at the time of the wreck besides the driver, who was taken to the hospital as a precaution. Authorities believe a combination of speeding and weather conditions contributed to the wreck.
