Harris County—Fatal Accident on Interstate Highway 610

Authorities have yet to determine the cause of a fatal crash on Interstate Highway 610 which killed a man last Saturday.
According to initial reports, the wreck took place just after 9:00 p.m. Police officers were called onto 1000 South Loop West after receiving a report of a collision. For some unknown reasons, a gold Saturn L20 was stopped on the westbound lane of the highway when it was struck by a gray Toyota Tundra pickup truck.
The driver of the Saturn L20 sustained serious injuries from the impact. He was immediately rushed to Memorial Hermann Hospital where he was later pronounced dead a few days after he was checked in. Local authorities have identified him as a 45-year-old man only.
Investigators are looking for possible factors that might have contributed to crash but have ruled out alcohol. The Toyota driver, whose yet to be identified, was arrested.
