HOUSTON, TX – A father has been charged with felony murder following a car wreck on Texas 249 on the night of Monday, May 18, according to The Houston Chronicle.
Eric Bahr was driving with his daughter and the wife of his child on the highway near Lakewood Crossing when he lost control of his car and crashed into a light pole. Melissa Wendt, the child’s mother, was declared dead at the scene.
The young girl became trapped in the crash after the accident and was rescued by a witness that saw the crash. The young girl and her father were transported to the hospital via CareFlight. They are both expected to recover from their injuries.
Authorities believe that the father was intoxicated at the time of the accident and have since charged Bahr with felony murder.
