Patrol car crashes during chase in city’s northwest side

HOUSTON, TX – The Houston Chronicle reports that a patrol car was involved in an accident during a police chase in the city’s northside on Tuesday, May 12.
The patrol car was chasing down a suspect in a silver Hyundai when it crashed into a Lexus at the intersection of West Little York Road and Beltway 8. The chase reportedly began at West Little York Road and Cunningham Road around 12:15 p.m.
While the patrol car suffered serious damage, neither the officer inside the vehicle nor the driver of the Lexus was injured. Authorities caught the suspect following the crash but have not yet revealed why the suspect was being chased.
