Motorcyclist killed in car crash

HOUSTON, TX – On Sunday, a Ford pickup truck ran a stop sign on Yale Street and struck a motorcycle and killed the rider.
The accident occurred at approximately 8:40 p.m. on May 3. A black Ford F-150 was driving west on Norview Drive and then crashed into a motorcyclist driving north at 4600 Yale Street. The Houston Police Department reports that the truck driver disregarded a stop sign at the intersection, which led to the crash.
The 53-year-old motorcyclist sustained critical injuries from the accident. Officials transported him to the Memorial Hermann Hospital for treatment, but he died from his injuries on May 4. The police have not released the motorcyclist’s identity to the public at this time.
The Ford’s driver stopped at the scene of the accident but then attempted to drive away. An off-duty police sergeant who witnessed the accident followed the driver and pulled him over. The driver explained that he was moving the vehicle off of the road, before returning to the scene.
At this time, the driver has not been charged for the accident. However, the police are still investigating the incident.
