The Tyler Police Department is still investigating a car accident on Cambridge Drive, early Monday morning.
Just after 1:00 a.m., local police officers responded to a major crash on Monday near the intersection of Jeff Davis Road and Cambridge Drive. Initial investigation shows that a silver 2011 Kia Optima was traveling along the westbound lanes of Jeff Davis when it went out of control and slammed into a wall. Its driver, identified as 22-year-old Timothy Hunter Brasher was pronounced dead at the scene. He was a resident from Tyler.
Brasher’s passenger sustained injuries from the impact. He was taken to a hospital and is in stable condition as of this writing. His identification was not released.
Investigators are still determining the factors that contributed to the crash. They submitted evidence to the Department of Public Safety to determine if alcohol played a role in the tragic accident.
No other further details were released.
Our deepest sympathies to the victim of this unfortunate event. We pray for their full recovery as we hope that the Tyler Police Department will do everything to bring those responsible to justice.
A car accident is an overwhelming experience. If you are a passenger in a car involved in an accident, the first thing you should do is seek medical attention for yourself and anyone who needs it. After this, you’ll want to alert your insurance provider regarding damages or injuries you sustained from the collision. To submit a claim, you would need to gather documents supporting your claim. These may include a video of the scene or a photograph of the damages to the vehicles, police reports stating the facts of the accident, and medical records indicating the severity of your injury, to name a few.
