Man loses legs in fatal accident that killed two others

HOUSTON, TX – A man fell off I-45 in North Houston on Friday, April 10, while attempting to jump out of the way of a truck and has lost both his legs, KTRK reports.
Abdullah Baidas was in taken into intensive care after the accident on the North Freeway near Rankin. Police reported that Baidas stopped to assist a motorist who was stopped with car trouble when an Amazon delivery truck struck them. Two people were killed in the crash.
Baidas’s uncle reported that he suffered several fractures of the spine and skull. He also said that Baidas’s legs were so damaged, they had to be amputated.
The medical examiners identified one of the victims of the crash as Kendrick Conrad Cox. A female victim has not yet been identified.
In addition, two children survived the crash, a one-year-old and a three-year-old.
Charges have not been filed against the delivery driver.
