Dickinson — Driver Dead After Driving into a Bayou

On Thursday, January 17, 2019, just after 5 p.m., witnesses saw a man in his 70s drive off the boat ramp in Dickinson and into the bayou.
This accident occurred in the 5000 block of Highway 3 near a boat ramp, and a dive team was assembled to find the vehicle and the body in the water. After a few unsuccessful attempts, the body of the driver was eventually extracted from the car.
The victim has been identified, but as per the request of his family, his identity is not revealed to the general public.
Residents living near the scene have said that this isn’t the first time accidents like this have happened. They said that throughout the years, there have been multiple cars who have driven into the bayou.
